CTU-Argao’s Kathlyn Baclayon Takes Oath as Student Regent During CTU Board of Regents Meeting

The oath was administered during the CTU Board of Regents meeting presided over by Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, who also serves as Chair of the CTU Board of Regents. The session reaffirmed CHED’s continuing commitment to strengthening governance, transparency, and quality assurancein all state universities and colleges (SUCs) nationwide. As Student Regent, Baclayon will represent the interests of CTU students across all campuses in university-wide policy discussions and decision-making processes. Her appointment signifies a strong commitment to student participation and leadership in institutional governance and development.
The CTU Board of Regents, as the highest governing body of the university, includes representatives from CHED, NEDA, DOST, the private sector, faculty, alumni, and students. Baclayon’s inclusion brings a fresh student perspectiveto the board, particularly in areas concerning academic advancement, student engagement, and policy innovation.

Baclayon’s leadership journey, rooted in her service at the CTU–Argao Campus, reflects the university’s mission to develop competent, committed, and community-oriented leaders, in alignment with Cebu Technological University’s vision of being a Premier Technological University serving the nation with excellence and purpose.
