As part of the Research and Development office activity, a three-day training on dressmaking was conducted at Cebu Technological University (CTU)ย Bantayan last January 25-27, 2021. The project, Sustainable Dressmaking for the Community of Cebu aims to give valuable training to sectors of the community on the different aspects of dressmaking providing livelihood to the displaced workers due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The project kicked off with an opening program attended by Dr. Adrian Ybaรฑez, Vice President for Research and Development, Dr. Levy S. Lepon, Extension Campus Director, Dr. Rowena Datoon, Prof. Nicholas Antigua and Dr. Esther Medalla.
Participants of the three-day training were given lectures on the basics of dressmaking and hands-on machine exercises. As promised by Dr. Ybanez, this activity is only the beginning of a series of programs that the Research and Development Office is planning to extend to CTU Bantayan and the Bantayan community as a whole.
