A team of researchers from Cebu Technological University Bantayan has made their mark at the 10th Federation of Student Governments (FSG) Summit, held at CTU Danao Campus in Cebu. The event, which was participated by 12 CTU satellite and extension campuses from different parts of Cebu, aimed to promote sustainability and community research and development.
The CTU Bantayan team, composed of Serelea Daniel, Ma. Ronnieza Jumawan, Jay Cris Luna, and Franc Philip Rivera emerged as champions of the Project Pitching event with their groundbreaking pitch to make eco-friendly, low-cost egg trays using banana trunks as the primary raw material. Their winning idea, aptly named “Green Trays,” showcased their creativity, resourcefulness, and commitment to sustainability.
In addition to winning the Project Pitching event, Ma. Ronnieza Jumawan, one of the team members, was crowned the Queen of the Night during the Social’s Night summit event, earning the team their second award.
The 10th FSG Summit had the theme “PAREA Leading from Within: Cultivating the Qualities of Transformational Leaders and Impacting Personal Growth toward Effective Leadership.” The summit aimed to help student-leaders improve their leadership skills and become catalysts for change in their communities. The CTU Bantayan team demonstrated outstanding leadership and perseverance, proving that anyone can excel and positively impact with effort and dedication.
The success of CTU Bantayan’s team at the 10th FSG Summit is a testament to the university’s commitment to producing leaders who are knowledgeable, innovative, and socially responsible.
