Empowering students through a Health Advocacy Seminar on HIV and STI Prevention

On March 14, 2023, the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Bantayan organized a Health Advocacy Seminar at the CTU Bantayan Covered Court. The seminar aimed to help students transition from young adults to responsible adults by addressing the prevalent issues of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Sexually Transmitted infections (STIs).

The seminar covered various topics related to HIV transmission, prevention, and testing. The speakers, registered nurses Ms. Evelyn Santillan and Ms. Jean Rose Clarito from RHU, shared their expertise and insights to educate the students about the risks of HIV and STI and how to protect themselves from these diseases.

After the lecture, the students could ask questions and clarify their doubts. The seminar significantly impacted the students, as they gained valuable knowledge and understanding of the issue. The forum gave the students the necessary information to make informed decisions about their sexual health.

The day was a huge success, and the students left the seminar with new ideas and awareness about HIV and STIs. The Health Advocacy Seminar provided an excellent opportunity for students to learn about the importance of maintaining good sexual health and taking responsibility for their well-being.
