As faculty and staff return to campus, CTU-Barili Extension Services Office, headed by Prof. Andrea A. Matildo, initiated a two-day writeshop on making community extension projects proposals and research bases on January 5-6, 2023.
Extension college coordinators, newly hired faculty members, and selected proponents participated in the writeshop, which aims to accustom the participants to the writing techniques and language mechanics in drafting community extension project proposals.
Dr. Pet Roey Pascual, a University Professor from the College of Agriculture, Food Science, Business and Communication, served as the primary facilitator of the writeshop. During the first day of the workshop, Dr. Pascual guided the participants in identifying projects for an extension.
They were formed into a group according to their discipline, in which each group delivered their project concepts. The identified projects were then packaged into proposals. On the second day of the writeshop, Dr. Pascual delves into how to package the proposals into a program. The aim is to produce a fundable extension program proposal thru the collaborative effort of all programs in CTU Barili.
The capability enhancement initiative was an activity starter for the Extension Services Office to continually nurture and develop the efficiency and capability of its faculty members, especially the newly hired in extension works.
