Cebu Technological University: Barili campus conducted a local budget forum for 2024 spearheaded by the accounting office in coordination with the Gender and Development (GAD) office on April 3- 5, 2023.
The session started with the orientation of PCW-NEDA-DBM Circular No. 2012-01 with Ms. Mary Grace Flores, Campus GAD Director. She also shared the annual GAD plan and emphasized including GAD-related activities in every program to be conducted. The session continued with the presentation of projected income for the calendar year 2024 with Ms. Aida F. Libradilla, Budget Officer, where she encouraged the participants to take responsibility as budget administrators and think critically during budget preparation. It was followed by the presentation of priority projects for the fiscal year 2024 by the Campus Director, Dr. Romeo C. Lepiten.
On the second day, Mr. George Albarracin, Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) Chairman, led the orientation of RA 9184 or the Government Reform Procurement Act. Gladys Anne Principe, Buyer 1, supplemented the discussion by discussing the procuring goods and services procedures. The last speaker, Mr. Samuel Glova, Accountant II, reiterated the processing of Government transactions, where he deliberated the general requirements for all types of disbursements like petty cash, reimbursements, and cash advance.
The forum ended with the workshop on the Preparation of the Program Procurement Plan (PPMP) for 2024 on the third day. Overall, the workshop aims to improve the campus’ financial management system. Dr. Lepiten encouraged the participants to deal efficiently with their financial resources during his welcome address.
‘We shall be vigilant and let us be reasonable enough in allocating funds in each department or college, especially since we have different mandates in all our dealings,’ said Dr. Romeo C. Lepiten.
The forum was attended by all department heads and office heads whose budget allocation is under fiduciary funds.
