Cebu Technological University (CTU) Barili Campus opened a free sing and dance workshop – the first summer workshop offered on campus. The workshop is open to all CTU students from July 3 until July 12, 2023.
The CTU Barili’s Culture and the Arts Office jointly organized the workshop through its Director, Dr. Leslie S. Obiso, Gender and Development Office through Ms. Mary Grace Flores, GAD Director, and the CTU – Barili Performing Arts.
The workshop, which aimed to enhance students’ skills in singing and dancing, was facilitated by esteemed mentors. The dance workshop was led by skilled dancers Ms. Belle Lanaria, Mr. Jan Vincent Onipa, and Mr. Ed Jay Edulan. The separate dance sessions featured various styles, including hip-hop, dancehall, contemporary, and traditional Filipino folk dances.
An experienced mentor, Ms. Shiella Marie F. Añober, led the vocal workshop. She highlighted different singing principles by teaching singing techniques, vocal presentation skills, analyzing musical scores, and interpreting choral compositions.
The free summer workshop was an avenue for talented Technologists who want to hone their skills in singing and dancing. It also empowered students to enjoy extracurricular activities while they excel academically. CTU Barili continues to capacitate and support the growth of its students by providing opportunities that could unleash their full potential.
