In celebration of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (ABE) Week, the Institute of ABE conducted a Science and Technology Writing Competition among its students on March 20, 2023, with the theme ‘Metamorph: Engineering Innovation for a more resilient world’ held at the Biotech Center.
Four students compete in the writing competition representing their tribes, namely Tribu Pi-thons, Tribu Nometry, Tribu Dynamics, and Tribu Nacci.
Jeyveb Gorre Casas of Tribu Dynamics emerged as the winner with her winning entry ‘Engineering Excellence: Innovation and Resiliency,’ which depicts the innovations in agricultural and biosystems engineering by using precision agriculture, sustainable practices, and new technologies for food safety and security to improve yields, reduce waste, and adapt to the difficulties of climate change and the limitations of resources.
The Science and Technology Writing Competition organized by the IABE provides a platform for students to showcase their skills, learn about the latest scientific advancements, and engage in meaningful discussions with industry leaders. Most importantly, it helps to drive innovation, encourage collaboration, and contribute to the overall growth and development of the industry.
