Enorio has been recognized as the 2024 Regional Awardee in the Youth Category for the Search for Outstanding Volunteers (SOV) organized by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA). This prestigious honor celebrates Enorio’s decade-long dedication to volunteerism and significant contributions to grassroots development.
Mr. Enorio, a third-year Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (BSABE) student, serves as the National Executive President of Subang, a youth-led organization focused on community empowerment and sustainability. Despite the success of his projects, Mr. Enorio faced several challenges along the way. Limited resources and inconsistent participation from community members often posed obstacles. “Securing funding and materials for projects can be tough, so I’ve maximized available resources and partnered with like-minded organizations,” Mr. Enorio shared. To address engagement issues, Mr. Enorio emphasized leadership training and capacity-building programs. “Encouraging consistent participation is always a challenge, but by fostering leadership, I aim to inspire individuals to take ownership of initiatives,’ he added.
Looking to the future, Mr. Enorio envisions a more organized, proactive, and youth-driven approach to volunteerism in the region. Mr. Enorio hopes to continue supporting this movement by empowering others through leadership training and sustainable solutions.
Reflecting on what inspired him to pursue a life of service, Mr. Enorio recalled his early experiences witnessing the struggles of underserved communities.
“Growing up, I saw how grassroots issues like poverty, lack of education, and environmental degradation affected people’s lives,” he said. These experiences ignited his passion for creating solutions and motivated him to empower others to join the effort.
Mr. Enorio offers heartfelt advice to young people interested in volunteering: “Start small and be consistent. Build relationships within your community because collaboration is key to meaningful change. Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, and don’t underestimate the power of your voice. Even small actions can lead to significant impacts,” Mr. Enorio explained.
Mr. Enorio credits his family, mentors, and fellow volunteers for supporting him throughout his journey. “My family has provided unwavering emotional support while my mentors guided me through challenges,” Mr. Enorio experessed. “The dedication and collaboration of fellow volunteers have been instrumental in driving meaningful change in our communities,” he added.
As Peter John C. Enorio continues to inspire and lead, his story serves as a testament to the power of volunteerism in shaping communities and the lives of those who dedicate themselves to service.
