The College of Agriculture, Food Science, Agribusiness, and Development Communication awards students through its first Recognition Day on April 7, 2025.
With the theme ‘Recognizing Honors, Celebrating Excellence’, the activity aims to commend the academic and non-academic achievements of students from BS Agriculture, BS Food Technology, BS Agribusiness, and BS Development Communication programs of the college.
Seventy-six honor students were given certificates of academic honors by Dr. Romeo C. Lepiten, the Campus Director, and Dr. Maria Lima D. Pascual, CAFBC Dean, with the assistance of the respective program chairs. Three students received with high honors, garnering a 1.21 – 1.450 GPA, while 73 received with honors, garnering a 1.451 – 1.750 GPA during the first semester of academic year 2024-2025.
Seven students also received non-academic distinctions. Five were athletes who were medalists during the Regional SCUAA Meet 2025 and the University Games, while two received leadership awards as President of the student organizations.
During the activity, Mr. Kent Marcial L. Catubis, a CAFBC alumnus now a Municipal Agriculture Officer, served as the guest speaker and inspired the students with his journey in CTU Barili and his life stories.
The first CAFBC recognition day aims to honor students’ achievements and inspire them to pursue excellence.
