The Cebu Technological University Barili Campus, through the Gender and Development Office, in coordination with the Campus Clinic and the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, organized a fire and safety simulation exercise.
The morning session included the Seminar and Program Proper, attended by students, faculty, staff, and job order personnel. Topics discussed covered gender and development, health awareness, and disaster preparedness.
The afternoon session featured Simulation Exercises on Fire and Earthquake Drills conducted in the Smartroom, the CAFBC, the HM Building, and the Admin Building. Each location included assigned simulation patients for rescue. The CTU-Barili DRRM Aid and Care Team carried out the response procedures.
A fire safety orientation was also conducted, where participants wore firefighter protective gear and observed demonstrations of firefighting tools and equipment, facilitated by Adrean E. Dayucos.
Skills Competitions and Drills were conducted involving the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps, the DRRM Aid and Care Team, and volunteered students. Activities included Hose Relay, Fire Extinguisher Relay, Types of Carry Relay, and Bucket Relay.
The simulation exercises were guided and supported by the Barili DRRM and BFP team.
The activities were conducted on March 30, 2026, and formed part of the campus, completing the planned Women’s Month 2026 program that supported women’s empowerment and promoted sustainable communities.
