GEA, CTU–Barili Guidance Office Hold First Mental Health Symposium

The Guild of Enthusiastic Agriculturists (GEA), in partnership with the CTU–Barili Guidance Office, successfully conducted the Mental Health Symposium: Understanding, Supporting, and Healing on April 21, 2026, at the Biotech Center of CTU–Barili Campus.

The event marked the first mental health symposium spearheaded by GEA, reflecting the organization’s commitment to promoting student welfare and mental health awareness within the campus community.

Participants of the symposium were selected students from the College of Agriculture, Food Science, Agribusiness, and Development Communication (CAFBC) and the College of Education (CoEd).

Resource speakers shared valuable insights on mental health and student well-being. Ms. Kaye Tenebroso discussed mental health, stress, and coping mechanisms, offering students practical ways to manage academic and personal challenges.

Meanwhile, Ms. Roqlyn Silverado, a registered psychometrician and guidance associate of CTU–Barili Campus, conducted a session on Psychological First Aid Training. Her discussion focused on recognizing signs of emotional distress and providing immediate support to individuals experiencing mental health difficulties.

The symposium served as a timely initiative to raise awareness, encourage open conversations, and equip students with knowledge and skills essential to maintaining mental wellness.

Through programs such as this, CTU–Barili Campus and its student organizations continue to strengthen efforts toward building a more supportive, informed, and compassionate academic community.
