A total of 69 students from the College of Agriculture, Food Science, Agribusiness, and Development Communication (CAFBC) received the Dean’s Listers Award during the 2nd CAFBC Recognition on May 15, 2026.
The Dean’s Lister Award is conferred by the College to students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievements. Among all the academic achievers, Ms. Lara C. Basco, a fourth-year BS Agribusiness student, received the CAFBC Academic Excellence Award for having the highest General Weighted Average (GWA) of 1.077 for the 1st semester of academic year 2025-2026.
Aside from academic awards, the college also conferred awards for students’ non-academic achievements. Seven students who emerged as champions and brought pride and distinction to the college through excellence in sports competitions received the Sports Achievers Award.
The College also recognized the student leaders who have demonstrated exemplary leadership service as Presidents of the 5 recognized student organizations under the CAFBC, namely the Guild of Enthusiastic Agriculturists (GEA), Student Agriculturist of Cebu Association (SACA), Young Agripreneurs Society (YAPS), League of Empowered Devcom Enthusiast (LEDE), and the Philippine Association of Food Technologists (PAFT).
To pay tribute to its graduates, the College also gave special recognition to those who successfully passed the 2024 and 2025 Agriculturists Licensure Examination (AgLE).
Ms. Jay Ann C. Commission, 2024 AgLE Passer, delivered an inspirational message that reminded the audience that everyone has their own time and everything has its own season.
The recognition rites ended with a ‘Wall of Brilliance’ activity, where all the honorees placed a leaf with their name and future goal on the Tree of Excellence.
With the theme ‘Cultivating Brilliance, Sustaining Excellence: the CAFBC Legacy of Honor’, the recognition highlights the College’s continuing commitment to foster excellence and quality education among its students.
