Cebu Technological University-Barili Campus marked a significant milestone with the formal Launching and Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing Ceremony of the 2026 Approved General Appropriations Act (GAA)-funded Community Extension Projects for Tier 1 & 2 on June 30, 2026, at CTU Barili.
The event gathered dedicated project leaders, project representatives, and esteemed community partners, including the Sibonga Multi-purpose Cooperative (SMPC), Campangga Alayon Multi-Purpose Cooperative (CAMPCO), Dakit-Tubod Farmers Association (DATUFA), and representatives from the Local Government Unit of Boloc-boloc, Barili, Cebu.
In his opening remarks, Assistant Campus Director Dr. George A. Albarracin highlighted the invaluable role of the stakeholders, stating, “Without you, we cannot implement our extension projects. You are our partners.”
Following this, Dr. Clea Anne V. Corsiga, Chairperson of the Extension Services Office, delivered the statement of purpose, emphasizing the sustainable impact of the collaboration: “This MOA signing solidifies our mutual commitment and strengthens our relationship. Together with you, our partners, we can achieve impactful extension projects.”
The ceremony featured comprehensive project overviews presented by the respective project leaders, followed by the official signing of the MOA. This year’s community extension projects highlight a robust lineup of grassroots initiatives, featuring 17 projects in Tier 1, including 9 Phase 2 and 8 new or Phase 1 projects, as well as 1 comprehensive project under Tier 2.
CTU-Barili remains steadfast in its mission to bridge academia and community development, ensuring that research and extension programs translate into meaningful progress for all.
