Cebu Technological University – Barili Campus successfully conducted a joint extension program comprising two projects, entitled “From Needs to Livelihoods: Building Sustainable Community Enterprises for Poverty Alleviation” and “Sustaining Pathways to Progress: Institutionalizing Family-Centered Learning and Livelihood Resilience” on July 24–25, 2026.
The joint extension programs benefited the Kadasig Aid and Development, Inc. Community in Patupat, Barili, Cebu, the direct beneficiary of the two extension projects. Through a unified capacity-building training program, members of the Kadasig Aid and Development, Inc. (KAID) community received a holistic learning experience that equipped them with practical knowledge and entrepreneurial skills to promote sustainable livelihoods and strengthen family and community resilience.
The two-day training featured comprehensive sessions on bread and pastry production, bakery enterprise management, purchasing and inventory management, product costing and pricing, marketing strategies, customer service, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. Through hands-on demonstrations, interactive workshops, and mentoring sessions, participants gained the competencies necessary to establish and sustain community-based bakery enterprises while improving their household income and economic well-being.
Participants were encouraged to apply their newly acquired knowledge in developing sustainable enterprises that contribute to long-term community development.
The program awarded certificates to participants who completed the training, recognizing their dedication to learning and their commitment to applying the knowledge and skills gained throughout the program.
This integrated extension initiative reflects the unwavering commitment of Cebu Technological University – Barili Campus to community engagement, inclusive development, and sustainable livelihood through responsive extension services. The university continues to empower the community through education, innovation, entrepreneurship, and meaningful community partnerships.
