The Cebu Technological University-Carmen Campus Phase, one of the 14-Million Hospitality Management Building, was completed in January 2022.
We will make sure that the building will be fully operational as soon as the remaining budget for such infrastructure is released, said Engr. Danilo S. Sua, Director- Campus Maintenance.
The remaining phases of the construction will follow as soon as all requirements for the said project are intact and ready, he added.
The building will cater to both local and foreign tourists looking for accommodation where they will feel at home in the presence of the students and staff, said Dr Richard Agustin, Hospitality Management Department Chairperson.
We intend to transfer learning to our students in the most technologically – advanced way, and the construction of this building is a step towards this goal, said Dr Ma. Helian C. Lamayo, Dean, College of Technology.
It will provide available space for standardized HM laboratories for actual skill acquisition among HM students’ necessary students in the Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism industries, Dr Lamayo added.
It will house additional laboratories and other facilities in housekeeping, food and beverage, food handling and preparation, front office and health spa that is in unity with the recommendations of the CHED Regional Quality Assurance Team, she further explained.
The department aims to achieve its (AACCUP) Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. Level 3 Accreditation, so we hope to reach that level, said Dr Edgar Ambos, Campus Director.
The building facility will also serve as a mini-hotel and will soon rise at the Aquaculture compound of the Campus situated along the Northern Cebu National Road. – Jihan Comeros / CTU-Carmen
