Faculty members from Cebu Technological University (CTU), representing the campuses of Carmen, Danao, Daanbantayan, Tuburan, and San Francisco Camotes, are currently participating in a Faculty Immersion Program in Thailand. The program, held at Sunwing Bangtao, runs from March 13–15, 2025, and includes On-the-Job Training (OJT) monitoring of student interns at partner hotels: Sunprime Kamala, Sunwing Kamala, Best Western Bangtao, and Best Western Phuket Ocean Resort. This will be followed by a Cultural Immersion experience from March 16–17, 2025.
Dr. Gypsy Rose J. Capuno, Chairperson of the Student Internship Abroad Program/Internationalization and ASEAN Integration of CTU-Carmen Campus, is actively monitoring CTU student interns throughout the program. Among the student interns are Miss Aissa Abayon assigned to the Food & Beverage (F&B) department at Sunprime Kamala, both Mr. Shane Learner Macoy, assigned to bar operations and Miss Liezel Montebon, assigned to Food & Beverage (F&B) department at Best Western Phuket Ocean Resort. All three interns have received commendable feedback from their supervisors and managers for their exceptional performance and professionalism.
In addition to the monitoring duties, Dr. Capuno, the participating faculty members, and Mrs. Chelytte Cande, a representative from Addaper Management Consultancy (AMC), are also undergoing specialized training in key hospitality areas such as Housekeeping, Front Office, Kitchen Operations, and Food & Beverage Services. This hands-on immersion aims to enhance their industry knowledge and improve instructional approaches.
This international immersion program is a collaborative initiative between Addaper Management Consultancy and Cebu Technological University. It serves as a vital step toward strengthening global linkages, promoting cross-cultural understanding, and developing the global competencies of both CTU faculty and students.
