CARMEN, CEBU – June 5, 2026 — More than 800 graduates of Cebu Technological University (CTU) Carmen Campus including the Sogod extension campus proudly marched during the institution’s 62nd Commencement Exercises wearing graduation togas produced through a university-led initiative spearheaded by the University Shared Facilities (USF) staff under the CTU Carmen DTI FabLab.
The toga production project was launched to support the graduation needs of students while showcasing the university’s capability to utilize its fabrication and production facilities in delivering quality and cost-effective services to the academic community.
Months before the graduation ceremony, the USF personnel worked tirelessly in the planning, fabrication, cutting, sewing coordination, quality checking, and distribution of the academic regalia. Through the collaborative efforts of the CTU Carmen DTI FabLab and the University Shared Facilities team, more than 800 togas were successfully produced and made available for use during the historic commencement exercises.
The initiative highlighted the university’s commitment to innovation, resource optimization, and community-centered service. By maximizing available facilities and technical expertise, the project ensured that graduating students had access to standardized and presentable academic regalia for one of the most significant milestones in their academic journey.
According to the project implementers, the undertaking demonstrated how university-based fabrication laboratories can extend their functions beyond technological innovation and entrepreneurship by supporting institutional activities and student-centered programs.
