Cebu Technological University (CTU) Carmen Campus officially launched the Arnis Sports Training for Teachers (ASTraT) Extension Program, with active participation from teachers of the Department of Education (DepEd) in the Municipality of Carmen.
The program aims to support the implementation of Republic Act No. 9850, the Arnis Law of 2009, and DepEd Order No. 22, s. 2025, which promote and strengthen Arnis as the Philippines’ National Martial Art and Sport while preserving its significance as an important part of Cebuano culture and heritage.
The ASTraT Extension Program is spearheaded by the CTU Carmen Campus PATHFit instructors, Vincent I. Caballes, Abigail Ena U. Bayani, and Dr. Mariane C. Batiquin. Through this initiative, participating teachers will enhance their knowledge and skills in Arnis, enabling them to contribute to its promotion, preservation, and integration in schools and communities.
