CEBU CITY โ€” Faculty and staff of Cebu Technological University โ€“ Cebu City Mountain Satellite Campus (CTU-CCMSC) took part in a Basic Life Support – Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (BLS-CPR) training conducted by the Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO).

The initiative, led by CTU-CCMSC DRRM Officer Mr. Jhoven Leyson, aimed to equip participants with essential life-saving skills. โ€œThis training is vital for every educator and campus staff,โ€ Mr. Leyson said. โ€œKnowing how to respond during the first critical minutes of a medical emergency can make the difference between life and death.โ€

Expert rescuers from CDRRMO โ€” Mr. Alben T. Baylon, Mr. Junlard F. Tangayan, Mr. John Vincent Tizon, and Mr. Marc Erzel B. Quijano โ€” facilitated the training, guiding participants through hands-on CPR techniques such as chest compressions and rescue breathing.

Faculty and staff expressed gratitude for the session, saying it boosted their confidence and readiness to respond in emergencies. The universityโ€™s collaboration with CDRRMO reflects its strong commitment to safety and community preparedness.
