CTU Consolacion Kicks Off Campus-Wide Orientation and Mid-Year Enhancement Seminar-Workshop

With the goal of nurturing a resilient and empowered academic workforce, Cebu Technological University (CTU) Consolacion Campus officially opened its Campus-Wide General Orientation and Mid-Year Enhancement Seminar-Workshop on July 21, 2025, at Hagnaya Beach Resort and Restaurant, Hagnaya, San Remigio, Cebu.

Carrying the theme โ€œBuilding Resilience and Excellence: Empowering CTUโ€™s Workforce for Sustainable Progress,โ€ย the four-day seminar from July 21 to 24ย gathers faculty and staff for a series of informative, motivational, and developmental sessions aimed at fortifying institutional unity and individual growth.

The opening remarks was delivered by Dr. Sarah Jane A. Colina, OIC-Campus Director, who welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of continued professional enhancement to support CTUโ€™s evolving academic and administrative goals.

The first day featured a comprehensive overview of the universityโ€™s vision, mission, goals, and core values, presented by Dr. Elinita A. Apas, Dean of the College of Education, Arts and Sciences (CEAS). Dr. Apas encouraged participants to align their personal and professional objectives with the universityโ€™s strategic direction.

An essential part of the orientation included a lecture on Republic Act 6713, the โ€œCode of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees,โ€ delivered by Dr. Danilo Y. Patalinghug, Dean of the Student Affairs and Services (SAS). His talk highlighted integrity, accountability, and ethical service as foundational principles for all public servants.

Adding valuable perspectives on wellness and personal finance, the seminar featured guest speakers from across the CTU system. Ms. Gelly Ann C. Baรฑares, RGC, Guidance Counsellor III from CTU-Daanbantayan Campus, led an insightful session on โ€œPathways to Wellness: Mastering Stress Management for a Balanced Life.โ€ She addressed mental health challenges in the workplace and shared techniques for managing stress and enhancing well-being.

Meanwhile, Ms. Nina C. Cantero delivered a practical and empowering session on financial literacy, equipping participants with tools for smarter money management and financial planning.

To round off the day, Mr. Rener L. Malagapo, Accountant II of CTU Consolacion, provided key Accounting Office updates, including financial processes, documentation compliance, and budget utilisation procedures crucial for administrative efficiency.

As the seminar continues into the following days, participants are expected to engage in team-building activities, collaborative planning, and capacity-building sessionsโ€”all geared toward fostering a stronger, more dynamic CTU community.

This mid-year gathering marks a renewed commitment to academic excellence and institutional sustainability, reminding everyone that resilience and empowerment are vital pillars for progress.
