The College of Education, Arts and Sciences (CEAS) of Cebu Technological UniversityโConsolacion Campus (CTU-CC) proudly held the Pinning and Candle Lighting Ceremony of Class 2006 on September 5, 2025, at the CTU-CC Gymnasium with the theme โPinned to Service, Enlightened to Inspire.โ
The solemn program opened with a Holy Mass at 1:00 p.m., setting a reverent tone for the occasion. This was followed by the processional entrance of the teaching and non-teaching personnel, graduating students, and their parents, symbolizing the support and unity of the academic community and families in shaping the graduatesโ journey.
Campus Director, Dr. Sarah Jane A. Colina, warmly welcomed the attendees in her address, emphasizing the significance of the ceremony as a rite of passage for aspiring educators and professionals. An Inspirational Message was delivered by SAS Dean, Dr. Danilo Y. Patalinghug, who reminded the graduates of their noble role as future leaders and nation-builders.
One of the programโs highlights was the presence of Hon. Doc Joyjoy Alegado, Vice Mayor of Consolacion, who served as the Guest Speaker. In his meaningful address, Vice Mayor Alegado encouraged the graduates to uphold their commitment to service and to use their knowledge and skills to inspire positive change in their communities. The CEAS Dean, Dr. Elenita Apas, also explained the Significance of the Pin, underscoring its representation of responsibility, commitment, and service.
The central part of the ceremony was the pinning of the graduating students from the Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Secondary Education majors in English, Filipino, and Mathematics, and the Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Each pin bestowed upon the graduates symbolized their readiness to embrace the duties of their chosen professions.
A symbolic Candle Lighting Ceremony, led by Prof. Rielouie Angtud, followed. With their candles lit, the graduates embodied the theme of enlightenment and inspiration, pledging to spread knowledge, values, and hope in their future endeavors.
The event concluded with heartfelt Closing Remarks from Dr. Rafael D. Davis III, who congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to uphold the ideals of service, excellence, and inspiration as they step into their professional paths.
The ceremony served not only as a celebration of academic achievement but also as a solemn pledge of service and inspiration, marking a significant milestone in the journey of CEAS Class 2006.
