On August 23, 2022, The Modern Fisher (TMF) journalism office of the Cebu Technological University Daanbantayan Campus, with the new adviser, called the first face-to-face officers orientation to build strong relationships with each other’s and to gather more natural interactions.
The meeting was headed by Dr. Nikkithea L. Beduya, TMF Adviser, where it had eighteen attendees, most of whom had experience in writing when they were at the high school level.
During the orientation, the officers had the chance to share their beautiful experiences in journalism. They also expressed the benefits they had during those times of service. They emphasized that joining the TMF organization made them boosted their confidence in writing and speaking.
After sharing experiences and benefits, Dr. Beduya discussed the Center for Communication and Media (CCM) policies, where the TMF policies will be anchored. The Organizational Chart was presented well. The Core function was explained clearly and concise. The University Publication were emphasized and talked to the members; Professional Journalism was already discussed to know how to become one. It also discussed the Rubrics on how to qualify during the screening stage, and the adviser explained well how to manage offences and what the penalties are to let the members soon avoid the offences to be made. Duties and responsibilities of the different designations were given and discussed accordingly.
Dr. Beduya concluded the orientation by discussing the guidelines for Releasing and Publication in various magazines, newspapers, Literature, and Literature. She also added the discussions on what to follow during meetings, Financial Management, Web and Social Media, Broadcasting and Advertising, Radio, Branding, events, Press Relations, Programs, and Training.
