Cebu Technological University Daanbanatayan Campus conducted the Intramurals 2022 on October 19-21, 2022, led by Dr. Ruben M. Ungui, Campus Director and Dr. Hannibal R. Layon, Chairman of Athletics and Sports, with the theme “Calibrating Sports, Culture, and Arts in the New Normal” aiming to encourage school-wide involvement of all students in physical activity during non-instructional times that occur during the school day.
The first day of the event was the opening program. It started with the preliminaries, various presentations and the declaration of the opening of the Intramurals 2022 by Prof. Felixberto T. Lucabon Jr, Assistant Campus Director. The solidarity meeting followed with Dr. Layon, Prof. Marie Pax P. Cuyos, The Modern Fisher writers and the campus officiating officials.
The key officials of the campus met and decided to let the players, participants and involved persons be on the campus since the event is only limited to the official participants to minimize the crowd and to protect the entire campus from Covid-19 since it is still crucial and dangerous for all. Campus Security does their minimum health protocol in providing the student who will come inside the school.
Seven (7) units were involved: Unit 1 – Education; Unit 2 – BSHM; Unit 3 – San Remegio; Unit 4 – BSFi, BSIE, and BIT; Unit 5 Tabogon; Unit 6 BSIT and Unit 7 Bantayan. These groups have athletes and participants who wore their uniforms in the assigned color to identify the team during the competition.
The three-day event shows the students’ different extraordinary talents and skills. The sports are athletics, badminton, basketball, beach volley, lawn tennis, selection of Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2022, culture and the Arts competition, Sepak takraw, softball, swimming, table tennis and volleyball. The musical completion includes pop solo, vocal solo, vocal duet, instrumental solo bandurria, instrumental solo classical guitar and instrumental solo piano.
The winners of these intramurals will be sent to the North cell this coming November 3-5, 2022.
