
On June 16, 2023, Cebu Technological University Daanbantayan Campus (CTU DB) hosted 20 students and two teachers from O.P. Jindal Global University, India. The visit strengthened the ties between the two esteemed institutions and fostered international collaborations. Annalie C. Rubio warmly welcomed the Indian delegation to CTU DB.
O.P. Jindal Global University, known for its academic excellence in India, arrived at CTU DB’s campus promptly at 9:00 a.m. The visit aimed to enhance mobility strategies, foster engagement, and nurture relationships between CTU and its newest university partner, O.P. Jindal Global University. Over two days, from June 16 to 17, 2023, a short-term cultural program was organized on the CTU DB campus.
Various representatives, including members of the Supreme Student Government, The Modern Fisher officers, the CTU Glee Club and Dance Troupe, working committee members, CTU DB faculty, and staff, attended the event. This diverse group came together to ensure a warm reception for the visiting delegation.
During their visit, the delegates from O.P. Jindal Global University embarked on a campus tour, where they were introduced to the key components and highlights of CTU DB, along with its student leaders, faculty, and staff.
The delegates were also given the honor of a courtesy visit to the Municipal Hall, where the Municipality of Daanbantayan welcomed them. Mayor, Hon. Shimura Sun, had thoughtfully arranged this visit, strengthening the bonds between the local community and the visiting delegation.
In addition to the on-campus activities, Dr. Ruben M. Ungui, the Campus Director, and other important officials accompanied the participants on an off-campus excursion in the afternoon. The international students were taken on a memorable trip, including visits to Golden Sands, one of Maya’s well-known tourist attractions in Daanbantayan, Cebu, and the beautiful Kandaya Beach Resort in Agujo, Daanbantayan, Cebu.
These off-campus excursions allowed the delegates to immerse themselves in the stunning natural beauty of Daanbantayan, located at the northernmost tip of Cebu.
To emphasize the importance of sustainable development, Prof. Arnie C. Trangia delivered a presentation on the subject. As part of their visit, the exchange students actively participated in mangrove planting at CTU Daanbantayan Aroma Beach, contributing to the environmental preservation efforts of the campus.
During their two-day visit, the exchange students expressed their excitement about exploring more fascinating aspects of the Philippines, particularly the local university. This cross-cultural exchange provided an invaluable opportunity for both institutions to learn from one another and lay the foundation for future collaborations.
The visit of O.P. Jindal Global University to CTU DB highlighted the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere of the campus, leaving a lasting impression on all participants involved.
