On August 2, 2023, Dr. Sutero S. Macabudbud Jr., Chairman of the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management Research Program, embarked on a journey to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to attend an esteemed international conference. Despite initial apprehension, the trip was remarkably smooth, and Kuala Lumpur airport’s facilities left a lasting impression. The conference served as a global gathering of scholars and researchers, encompassing an extensive array of subjects, including food, health, nutrition, and lifestyle. The exchange of ideas and the enthusiasm for research were truly inspiring.
Dr. Macabudbud presented a groundbreaking study on the mechanical dehydration of boneless Siganids infused with an innovative marinade premix, marking a significant milestone in his academic journey.
The second day of the conference featured presentations by fellow researchers, enriching the collective knowledge base. In the afternoon, seminars were dedicated to effective publication writing and mentoring, equipping attendees with invaluable tools to advance their academic careers and nurture the growth of future researchers.
The event concluded with a special ceremony recognized and awarded certificates to all participants, including keynote speakers, attendees, and organizers. The culinary offerings at the event made a lasting impression on Dr. Macabudbud, with the region’s cuisine being characterized by paprika and a delightful array of seasonings.
Dr. Macabudbud expressed his profound gratitude to Cebu Technological University Daanbantayan Campus, fellow researchers, and dedicated internationalization focal persons for their approval and support, enabling him to engage in international presentations. The finance and budget personnel’s dedicated efforts in processing travel allowances were also acknowledged, as well as the unwavering support and inspiration from family and friends. Dr. Macabudbud concluded by expressing gratitude to God for guiding and safeguarding him throughout his journey.
