Cebu Technological University (CTU) Daanbantayan Campus kicked off the academic year with one of its most anticipated events—the Acquaintance Party 2024. Held on November 22, this vibrant gathering united students, faculty, staff, and local government officials for an afternoon and evening filled with fun, connection, and school pride.
The theme of the event, “Ethereal Night: The School for Ever and Never,” was designed to emphasize life’s experiences through the lens of the present perfect tense, inviting everyone to reflect on their shared journey at CTU Daanbantayan. It was a celebration not just of the present, but also of the memories and bonds that have shaped the community.
The event, which started at 3 p.m. and ran well into the evening, was made possible through the hard work and dedication of the Student Government (SSG) officers and other CTU Daanbantayan organizations. SSG President Hon. Love Joy Dela Peña, together with her team, received unwavering support from their advisers, Dr. Nikkithea Beduya and Dr. Tracy Mantos, who guided them in perfecting the program and ensuring a smooth and successful event.
“We are incredibly proud of the success of this event,” said Dr. Ruben Ungui, Campus Director of CTU Daanbantayan. “The Acquaintance Party wasn’t just about having fun—it was about bringing our community closer, creating lasting memories, and celebrating our shared experiences. It’s heartening to see students, faculty, staff, and even part-time teachers and job order employees come together to make this event unforgettable.”
As the event unfolded, attendees wore their “Ethereal Night” attire, embodying the theme of “Ever and Never.” The atmosphere was filled with laughter, music, and lively conversations, as everyone connected and celebrated the spirit of the university. It was an evening that highlighted the unity and passion of the CTU Daanbantayan community.
The event was also graced by the presence of local government officials, including Daanbantayan Mayor Hon. Sun Shimura, who showed his steadfast support for the university and its students. His participation, alongside his fellow officers, reinforced the strong bond between CTU Daanbantayan and the local community, demonstrating that the university is an essential part of Daanbantayan’s growth and progress.
