Cebu Technological University – Daanbantayan Campus has marked a historic milestone with its first Faculty Mobility program, sending faculty members to Istanbul Kültür University in Turkey from December 8–12, 2025. This initiative highlights CTU’s commitment to international collaboration and strengthens its role in global education and research. The official invitation from IKU’s International Office affirms the importance of this engagement, opening opportunities for joint research, exchanges, and collaborative publications that elevate CTU’s visibility worldwide.
The onsite lecture series featured two key presentations. Dr. Nikkithea Beduya delivered “Malabar Spinach: Cultivating Nutrition for a Sustainable Future,” exploring the potential of alugbati as a sustainable functional food and linking Philippine practices with Turkish food culture while advancing global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Dr. Jihan U. Justo presented “Narrative Empowerment and Transformative Communication: Leveraging Lived Experiences to Advance Sustainable Development Goals,” emphasizing the power of storytelling in resilience, recovery, and advocacy. Together, these lectures showcased CTU’s unique blend of scientific innovation and human-centered advocacy.
This Faculty Mobility reflects CTU’s Vision, Mission, Goals, and Objectives by fostering international partnerships, promoting sustainable development, and integrating academic expertise with community empowerment. It aligns with SDGs on Quality Education, Innovation, and Partnerships for the Goals, demonstrating CTU’s readiness to scale local innovations to international relevance.
