
Global Initiative for Exchange and Development Inc. – GIED conducted a three-day seminar hosted by Cebu Technological University – Danao Campus from February 16 until 17, 2023, held in the CTU-Danao Hometel.
Selected students from CTU’s various campuses attended the seminar, which discussed how to deal with SDG 12- Responsible Consumption and Production through our Erasmus + CARE WHAT YOUTH WEAR Project Toolkit. With the GIED’s partner organizations/countries, this Project aims to provide an overview of the most concerning impacts caused by the fashion industry.
The event was also participated by Prof. Ruby Grace Guia- Internationalization Chairperson, CTU Argao, Dr. Rolito Imperial of IAI Chairperson of CTU-Dumanjug, Dr. Charena Castro IAI Chairperson of CTU-Main, Ms. Mildred G. Martinez IAI Chairperson of CTU-Argao, Dr. Edralin General IAI Chairperson of CTU-Danao, Prof. Delia Sabio NSTP Chairperson of CTU-Danao, Prof. Vincent Borres IAI Chairperson of CTU-San Francisco and some volunteers from GIED, Richard Delos Reyes, Chichiro Katamine, Ann Catherine Plantar and Rhenelyn Queen Dadulo.
By bringing the global garment industry to young people, the three-day seminar will foster the commitment of young people from Europe and Asia to take an active role in meeting global challenges based on awareness and critical understanding of the phenomena of global interconnectedness.
GIED primarily focuses on social issues like education, health, environment, cultural engagements and community development.
