From February 13-15, 2024 culture and the arts advocates all over the country convene for a three- day National Training Workshop for Coaches and Trainers of SUC’s in preparation for the National Culture and the Arts Festival (2024 NCAF) held at Batangas State University, Batangas City, Philippines.
Cebu Technological University selected cultural directors across CTU campuses joined in the said undertaking. Prof. Michaed Dax Barlaan, Cultural Director of CTU Danao Campus, together with Engr. Roel L. Vasquez, Dr. Sarah Jane A. Colina and two student dance troupe members engaged in the three-day workshop to strengthen their coaching and trainer’s skills to uplift the university’s involvement of the various events in the National Culture and the Arts Festival.
Top-notch speakers were invited to share their expertise to the participants in which the workshop truly engages each culture enthusiasts to show what it takes to be both a performer, coach and a trainer rolled into one. Workshops on various dances, musical arts, dramatic arts visual arts and pageantry to name a few which shove the participants to excel in their specific genre of expertise.
As part of the culture and arts development programs, the event envisions State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) as leaders in advancing and promoting skills and talents that uphold positive human values. The activity is designed to deepen the understanding of the crucial role trainers and coaches play. Specifically, this gathering aims to enrich the participants’ abilities through the incorporation of contemporary coaching techniques and provide updates on NCAF rules and guidelines.
The seminar workshop is truly an enriching and immersive experience which aims to explore various aspects of cultural expression, creativity, and artistic practices. / Dr. Sarah Jane Colina
