The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Technical Committee for Engineering and the Regional Quality Assurance Team (RQAT) visited Cebu Technological University (CTU) Danao Campus today, June 3, 2025, to conduct an onsite validation of three academic programs — Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering (BSIE), Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE), and Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology (BSIT).

The validation forms part of CTU-Danao’s ongoing application for the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC), a vital step in ensuring the university’s programs meet national standards for quality assurance and excellence. The visit focused on assessing the laboratories, facilities, equipment, and administrative office.

The expert committee included CHED-RO 7 Education Supervisors — Dr. Leonardo R. Tanael Jr. and Dr. Jameson T. Lim, Technical Committee Members for Engineering — Engr. Ricardo L. Fornis and Engr. Dennis Anthony A. Kilongkilong, and Dr. Angie Canillo-Ceniza, who serve as both Technical Committee Member and RQAT Member. Engr. Fornis led the review of the BSCE program, Engr. Kilongkilong of the BSIE program, and Dr. Canillo-Ceniza of the BSIT program.

The program began with a welcome address from Dr. Marsanne P. Dua, Dean of the College of Technology. Dr. Tanael then introduced the Regional Quality Assurance Team, presenting the expert evaluators for each program. Following this, Program Chairs Engr. Jayson G. Bayogo (BSCE), Engr. Donald R. A thorough ocular inspection followed, with the team visiting several key facilities, including the Industrial Materials and Process Laboratory, Ergonomics Laboratory, Work Study and Measurement Laboratory, seven Computer Laboratories, the Civil Engineering Laboratory, and the campus library.

The validation concluded with a message of commitment from Dr. Lislee C. Valle, Dean of Instruction, reaffirming the university’s dedication to delivering high-quality education.

This onsite validation underscores CTU-Danao’s commitment to academic excellence and ongoing efforts to provide students with world-class learning environments.
