Cebu Technological University (CTU) Danao Campus, through its Extension Services, rolled out the BAKE Program (Building Abilities and Knowledge for Entrepreneurship and Livelihood for Liloanons) in Barangay San Vicente, Liloan, Cebu on July 26, 2025.
The program was designed to equip selected single parents with practical baking skills and basic entrepreneurial knowledge to support income-generating opportunities and promote self-sufficiency.

Through the mentorship of Dr. Ivy A. Batican and other Graduate School faculty members, Dr. Jacquiline R. Dela Cruz, Dr. Catherine C. Terana, Dr. Romel C. Mutya, and Dr. Gladies Mae. Olivar, graduate students from the Master of Technical and Vocational Education (MTVEd HET) crafted and formulated the initiative, even serving as facilitators as they provide hands-on instruction throughout the training.
Participants were also introduced to essential business concepts, helping them develop the confidence and knowledge needed to start or expand small home-based enterprises.

Beyond skills development, the BAKE Program served as a platform for empowerment, community engagement, and inclusive growth. It highlighted the university’s dedication to supporting vulnerable sectors—especially single parents—by providing access to practical education that can lead to sustainable livelihoods.
The activity was made possible through the active support of barangay officials and the enthusiastic participation of the local community. CTU-Danao continues to strengthen its commitment to community transformation through meaningful, skills-based outreach initiatives that uplift lives and promote economic resilience.
