Held in Tawsan, Guinsay, Danao City, this initiative aimed to equip members of the local fishermen’s association with fundamental photo editing skills for documentation, promotion, and sustainable livelihood development. The training served as a strategic and creative approach to help fisherfolk enhance their digital literacy and adopt modern methods for showcasing their products and marine conservation efforts.

The activity was led by Engr. Adelfa G. Castilla, Mr. Jose Carlos Medalle, Mr. Romelito Bayno Jr., Mr. Arnold Batac, Ms. Marites Bejoc, and Mr. Leoneil Almendras, with the active involvement of BIT and BSIE students from the College of Technology and College of Engineering. Together, they facilitated hands-on sessions using accessible photo editing tools, ensuring that participants gained practical skills aligned with their daily needs and local livelihood.

The program also placed special emphasis on empowering women within the association. By enabling them to professionalize the visual presentation of their products, the training opened opportunities to reach broader and more profitable markets. This not only elevated the perceived value of their labor and local produce but also provided a vital pathway for women to thrive amid evolving economic demands.

By equipping women with practical digital competencies and fostering more visible economic roles, the initiative contributes to gender equality, strengthens the resilience of the community, and supports sustainable local development in Danao City.

This collaborative effort stands as a testament to CTU-Danao’s unwavering commitment to inclusive, skill-based education that transforms lives, promotes environmental responsibility, and builds stronger, more self-resilient communities.
