Danao City, Philippines — August 31, 2025 — Engr. Donald R. Lalican, faculty member of the College of Engineering at Cebu Technological University-Danao Campus, earned the Best Paper Award under the Sustainable Environment and Communities Track during the Recoletos Graduate School Conference 2025 held on August 30, 2025, at the University of San Jose-Recoletos Main Campus, Cebu City.
His research article, titled “Water Sustainability Index and Resource Management in Danao City, Philippines: A Predictive Analytics Utilizing System Dynamics Modeling to Assess Future Supply and Demand,” applies system dynamics modeling and predictive analytics to establish a Water Sustainability Index that forecasts the balance of water supply and demand, offering valuable insights for effective resource management in Danao City.
The award-winning paper is set for publication in the Recoletos Multidisciplinary Research Journal (RMRJ), a Scopus-indexed journal, further solidifying its contribution to advancing sustainable development and environmental research.
