Cebu Technological University (CTU) – Danao Campus proudly participated in Danao City’s festivities honoring its patron saint, St. Thomas de Villanueva, through its much-awaited annual event, the CTU Nite. As one of the highlights of the city’s festivities, CTU Nite showcased the talents, culture, and spirit of the CTU-Danao community today, September 17, at 5:00 PM in the Boarwalk.
The festivities commenced with a heartfelt formal opening by Dr. Rosemarie N. Abayon, Administrative Officer V, who emphasized the event’s enduring significance. “It has been a long and cherished tradition for CTU Danao to actively participate in the nightly festivities of the Danao City fiesta,” she remarked. “Through this celebration, we affirm our commitment to the promotion of culture and the arts and of our deep connection to the community we proudly serve.” Then Dr. Abayon went on to unveil the theme of this year’s CTU Nite, saying that it is a “rich tapestry of festivals celebrated across the Philippines.”










The event brought together students, faculty, staff, and alumni in an evening filled with impressive performances, artistic presentations, and a strong sense of unity and pride. Through the diverse Philippines music, dance, and other creative presentations, CTU Nite reflected the campus’s vibrant academic and cultural life, pride in the country, and strong bond with the city of Danao.




As part of Danao City’s grand festivities, CTU Nite continues to be a signature event that exemplifies the university’s dedication to holistic student development beyond the classroom. The university’s participation marks its ongoing support for community celebrations, promoting pride and camaraderie among residents and stakeholders.
The event showcased a competition of the rich festivities celebrated in the different parts of the country: Solili Festival by the Gender and Development (GAD) Office, Dinagyang Festival by the Administration Office, Pina Festival by the Supreme Student Government (SSG), Kaamulan Festival by the College of Education, Arts and Sciences (CEAS), Sinulog Festival by the Physical Activity Towards Health and Fitness (PATHFIT) Department, Kadayawan Festival by the College of Engineering (COE), Lanzones Festival by the College of Technology (COT), Maskara Festival by the College of Management and Entrepreneurship (CME), and Sandugo Festival by the Alumni Organization.
An esteemed panel of judges, composed of Ms. Pempem Krissy Apas-Paradiang, Ms. Nelanie H. Batoon, and Mr. Deo Jimenez Generalao, awarded first place to COE’s Kadayawan Festival. The PATHFIT Department’s Sinulog Festival earned second place, while the COT’s Lanzones Festival secured third place.
The event was made possible through the efforts of the CTU Danao Event Team: Mr. Benjie Vanzuela, Ms. Maria Niña Jesusa F. Rio, Ms. Ana Marie S. Bentazal, Ms. Regine Montes, and the Director of the Culture and Arts Office, Dr. Michaed Dax Barlaan, ensuring a memorable night that resonated deeply with all attendees.
CTU-Danao looks forward to continuing this tradition, blending education, culture, and community throughout the years.
