The Cebu Technological University (CTU) Danao Campus, through the College of Management and Entrepreneurship and in coordination with the DTI Go Negosyo Provincial Office and the Barangay Local Government of Dunggo-an, launched the first phase of its extension program, “ALAGAD: Maayong Serbisyo Malamboon nga Negosyo,” on October 25, 2025, at Barangay Dunggo-an, Danao City. The initiative aims to strengthen the entrepreneurial capabilities of local food vendors as key drivers of the community’s grassroots economy.
The Day 1 session focused on enhancing customer service skills as a vital component of business growth and sustainability. Food vendors from Barangay Dunggo-an participated in a comprehensive training that highlighted four essential areas: Food Hygiene and Sanitation, Knowledge of the Menu, Effective Communication, and Complaint Handling. These topics are designed to equip participants with the fundamental knowledge and service-oriented mindset necessary to improve customer experiences and promote repeat patronage.
Facilitated by the College of Management and Entrepreneurship team, the training sessions encouraged interactive learning and practical application. Participants were engaged through discussion-based modules, scenario demonstrations, and guided reflections that allowed them to examine current practices and identify areas for improvement in their business operations
The program’s initial rollout marks the beginning of a multi-phase intervention tailored to elevate small-scale enterprises in the locality. Succeeding sessions will include capacity-building activities covering financial literacy, business development, and other entrepreneurial skills essential for sustaining and expanding microentreprises.
Through this collaborative initiative, CTU Danao continues to uphold its commitment to community empowerment, livelihood enhancement, and local economic development—ensuring that micro-entrepreneurs are equipped with the right mindset and competencies to build resilient and service-driven enterprises.
