The Cebu Technological University (CTU) Danao Campus, through its Extension Services, held the culminating activity of its mathematics enrichment initiative, “๐๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐จ๐ง๐๐๐ซ๐ฌ ๐จ๐ ๐๐ฅ๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ก๐ญ๐๐ง๐๐๐ซ๐ : ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ญ๐ซ๐จ๐ง๐ ๐ ๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ฎ๐๐๐๐ฌ๐ฌ,” on ๐๐๐๐๐ฆ๐๐๐ซ ๐, ๐๐๐๐, at ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ฅ๐จ ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐ข๐ ๐ก ๐๐๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ฅ, ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐จ๐๐ง, ๐๐๐๐ฎ. The activity marked a significant step toward enhancing students’ numeracy skills through innovative and accessible approaches to learning algebra.
The culminating activity was led by ๐๐ซ. ๐๐๐ซ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐. ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ซ๐, with the support of Dr. Bysche R. Rivera, Dr. Ivy C. Carascal, Dr. Catherine C. Terana, Prof. Ana Marie S. Bentazal, and Prof. Emerita M. Tan. Their collective expertise and guidance ensured a meaningful and engaging learning experience for the participating students.
Throughout the program, learners were introduced to the Trachtenberg System, a simplified and systematic approach to performing rapid mathematical computations. This method allowed students to strengthen their foundational algebra skills while boosting their confidence in solving numerical problems with accuracy and efficiency. Interactive demonstrations, guided drills, and problem-solving sessions showcased how mathematics can be both accessible and enjoyable.
During the culminating activity, students presented their outputs and participated in collaborative exercises that demonstrated their improved computational abilities. Faculty facilitators provided encouragement and insights, emphasizing the importance of strong numeracy skills in academic performance and future career opportunities.
The event also recognized the dedication of both learners and educators who contributed to the program’s success. The enthusiasm and active participation of the students from Arcelo National High School reflected the initiative’s impact in cultivating a deeper appreciation for algebra and mathematical thinking.
