The Cebu Technological University (CTU) Danao Campus formally welcomed its foreign volunteers on January 20, 2025, as part of its ongoing commitment to international collaboration and cultural exchange. The volunteers, Miss Tabea Helene Wernicke and Miss Lucinda Abamonga, paid a courtesy call to the Campus Director, Dr. Rose Mary L. Almacen, marking the official start of their stay and engagement within the university.
During the courtesy visit, Dr. Almacen warmly received the volunteers and emphasized the importance of international partnerships in supporting the university’s instruction, research, extension, production, and community-oriented initiatives. The meeting also served as an opportunity to discuss the volunteers’ roles and their involvement in campus-based programs.

Miss Wernicke and Miss Abamonga will be staying on campus until August 2025 and will be working closely with the CTU Danao Extension and Production Office. Throughout their stay, they are expected to assist in extension activities, community programs, and intercultural engagements that promote knowledge sharing, skills development, and cross-cultural understanding among students, faculty, and staff.
This international volunteer engagement is made possible through the partnership between CTU Internationalization and ASEAN Integration and the Global Initiative for Exchange and Development, Inc. (GIED). The collaboration reflects CTU’s continuing efforts to strengthen international linkages and promote global citizenship within the university community.
Through this initiative, CTU continues to open its doors to global collaboration—enriching campus life, strengthening partnerships, and advancing its vision of a globally responsive academic institution.
