CTU Danao Bids Farewell to Foreign Volunteer After One-Month Service Engagement

The Cebu Technological University (CTU) Danao Campus held a send-off celebration on February 23, 2026, in recognition of Miss Tabea Helene Wernicke, who completed her one-month volunteer service with the university. The celebration was conducted in collaboration with the Extension and Production Office and the Internationalization and ASEAN Integration (IAI). Wernicke officially departed on February 24, 2026, following the successful completion of her volunteer engagement.

The simple send-off gathering was organized to express appreciation for Wernicke’s dedication and active participation in campus programs. Faculty and staff members shared messages of gratitude for her willingness to contribute knowledge, assist in institutional activities, and actively engage with the university community during her stay.

Throughout her one-month volunteer service, Wernicke supported several academic and community-related initiatives. She actively contributed to various academic, production, and community engagement activities, including assisting in student interviews at the CME Department, participating in food and product development initiatives at the CTU Production Office, and serving as a facilitator during the campus intramurals. She also joined the Tawsan mangrove planting activity, participated in the Danao City cultural site visit, and supported other extension-related programs and promoted experiential and intercultural learning opportunities.

The volunteer program underscored the importance of international collaboration and cultural exchange in advancing institutional goals. Through interaction with students, faculty, and staff, Wernicke contributed to fostering mutual understanding and a more globally aware campus environment.

After completing her service, Wernicke departed on February 24, 2026, and returned to her hometown in Germany. The CTU Danao community extended heartfelt wishes for her safe travel and future endeavors, expressing hope for continued friendship and potential collaboration in the future.

The university remains committed to promoting international partnerships and volunteer programs as part of its mission to advance globally responsive education, extension, and community development.
