The Cebu Technological University (CTU) Danao Campus, through the PAEPI Central Visayas Chapter, participated in the International Extension Symposium and Technology Forum (IESTF) held on May 20-22, 2026, at the CTU Main Campus CebuTech Gymnatorium, with the theme “Transforming Communities through University-Led Extension for Sustainable Development.” The three-day international event aimed to strengthen collaboration among higher education institutions and extension practitioners to advance community-centered, sustainable development initiatives.
The symposium brought together educators, researchers, extension coordinators, and international partners to showcase innovative programs and best practices in university-led extension. During the Day 1 opening program, faculty members from CTU Danao actively participated, including Dr. Ivy A. Batican, Extension Chairperson, and Dr. Denilin P. Batulan, SAKPI “sa” BJMP Project Leader, as well as Dr. Marlon D. Mata and Dr. Donald R. Lalican, who served as paper presenters.
The event also featured distinguished international plenary speakers, Dr. Prakash Bhuyar of Maejo University, Thailand, and Mr. Akhmad Habibullah of Pancasakti Tegal University, Indonesia. Both speakers shared valuable insights on global extension practices, emphasizing innovation, cross-border collaboration, and sustainable approaches to community transformation.
Beyond the academic sessions, the CTU Danao Extension and Production Office also actively participated in the PAEPI exhibit booth, showcasing various locally developed products and extension outputs. The exhibit booth highlighted the campus’s community-based innovations and livelihood initiatives, demonstrating how extension programs translate knowledge into practical and sustainable solutions.
The forum also served as a venue for academic exchange and partnership-building among local and international participants. Through presentations, discussions, and networking activities, the symposium underscored the critical role of universities in driving inclusive growth and sustainable development through extension work.
The official conduct of the 2025 PAEPI-VII IESTF reaffirmed CTU Danao’s commitment to advancing extension excellence and strengthening linkages that translate academic expertise into meaningful community impact.
