Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Social Studies

The Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Social Studies (BSEd – Social Studies) is a four-year degree program designed to prepare future educators to teach Social Studies at the secondary level. The program emphasizes the development of competencies in utilizing sociocultural and historical materials, organizing communities towards self-reliance, and demonstrating leadership skills to empower communities. A secondary teacher who inculcates the student with finest civic, historical, socio-cultural, economic and political consciousness to nurture and develop high grade spirit of nationalism to mold the succeeding generations with the significance of nation building towards inclusive society, stronger economy, deterrence of terrorism and criminality, solidified justice system, and disaster resiliency.
