Cebu Technological University – Dumanjug

Campus History

Cebu Technological University (CTU) Dumanjug was established in June 2009. It is located at Brgy. Bitoon, Dumanjug, Cebu, as an extension campus of CTU Barili. Dr. Genes Pasaje, the campus director of CTU Barili, led the way in allocating funds in the establishment of its extension campus, making it the first extension campus in the CTU system. He appointed Engr. Jeremy P. Mondejar of the College of Agriculture as the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Campus Director., who then took a study leave for Europe months later and was replaced by Engr. Dennis E. Lauta from the Main Campus as the OIC Campus Director. Initially, in 2009, the campus offered Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME), Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Bachelor in Elementary Education (BEEd), and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM). The following year of 2010, Bachelor in Secondary Education (BSEd) was offered. The three-story building was finished in 2011 which housed the engineering programs. In the same year, a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology (BSIT) with majors in Computer Technology and Automotive Technology was offered, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) in 2012.

In early 2013, Engr. Nilo L. Minyamin from CTU Moalboal took over as the new OIC Campus Director. Months later in the same year, a new administration paved the way for the campus to be an extension of CTU Main under the new management with Dr. Jose Maria S. Garcia II from CTU Main as the new campus director. Continuing the vision of Dr. Garcia in expanding and improving the campus in terms of infrastructure and facilities and the mission of providing access to quality tertiary education, Dr. Romeo C. Lepiten, a former Chairperson of the Bachelor of Electronics Engineering in CTU Main, was installed as the new campus director on May 6, 2015, until the present. Under his visionary and strong leadership, the campus became the first and only extension campus to have all seven curricular offerings being LEVEL 1 Accredited by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities of the Philippines (AACCUP, Inc.), with one program (BS Civil Engineering) as Candidate for Level 1 Survey by 2022. With his firm conviction in quality education through infrastructure, the campus is now situated in its new site at Brgy. Liong with a land area of five hectares. It has an Olympic-sized oval, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, and a newly renovated covered gymnasium. Currently, the new site has a three-story, nine rooms College of Engineering Building (2017), a three-story, 15 rooms Administration and College of Education Building (2020), and the on-going construction of the four-story, 20 rooms Science and Technology Building which are expected to be finished by 2022. Following the construction of the Science and Technology Building will be the Hotel and Convention Center in 2022, a four-story library building in 2023, renovation of the existing Olympic-sized oval and swimming pool in 2024, the Arts and Culture Complex in 2025, and a student/faculty/staff dormitory in 2026.
