February is the month to commemorate 1 billion rising acts of solidarity that demonstrate togetherness, as well as a campaign that will accelerate the collective actions of activists throughout the world and magnify their appeal for systematic changes to eliminate violence against women and children once and for all.
CTU-Danao Gender and Development Office conducted the 1 Billion Rising Solidarity event at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology –Danao City.
The activity was participated by the chosen Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) made up of men and women, officials from the BJMP-Danao, particularly the Female Warden, J/INSP Eve Valentine Senining, as well as GAD staff and students from CTU (CTU Dance Troupe).Moreover, CTU-Danao campus also joined the 1 Billion Rising activities during its 72nd Foundation Day. One Billion Rising is the largest public action in human history to eliminate violence against women cisgender, transgender, and those with fluid identities who are victims of gender-based violence.
