Many people suffer when a pandemic strike; frontliners require protective equipment since they are the one caring for patients who are infected with the virus; and people begin to learn how to create their own versions of protective equipment because supplies are running low.
CTU Danao Campus Gender and Development helps to fight against the pandemic by making face shields manually with the aid of CTU-DANAO FABLAB.
Also, they collaborated with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology to produce thousands of facemasks and face shields for Cebu City’s frontliner, particularly in several hospitals.
As one of the national government’s primary mandates, the effort primarily ensures people empowerment.
Apart from face shield production, Gender and Development Office extends a helping hand to all CTU workers men and women (PWD, senior citizens, job orders, emergency workers including canteen staff and security guards) in the form of groceries and the beneficiaries they received 5 kls. of rice, canned goods, egg, and instant coffee because some of our fellow workers are jobless due to the enhanced community quarantine that can’t proceed to the borderline of cities and municipalities.
