On June 2023, the STF-Funded Community Extension Program: “Programang Literasi: Bayanihan Para Sa Daycare” culminates at Barangay Sto. Nino, Cebu City. It is an extension project of the College of Education, CTU- Main Campus.
The project leader Dr. Fe A. Varona, developed a program that provides primary education among preschoolers at the said barangay. It reflects her dedication to educating young children in preparation for their writing and reading competencies. It was supported by the dynamic College Dean, Dr. Reylan G. Capuno, Dr. Jabin J. Deguma, Chairperson of the COED Extension Services, together with the project members Dr. Charisma G. Lumayag, Dr. Melona C. Deguma, Dr. Mary Anne C. Villaganas, Dr. Honorio C. Añora, Dr. Juliet O. Mandado, Dr. Esperanza M. Del Fierro, Dr. Helen O. Revalde, Dr. Lilibeth C. Pinili, Dr. Michelle D. Arroz, Dr. Margie Fulgencio, Dr. Danilo O. Cebe, Prof. Marilou G. Martinez, Dr. Marjorie B. Añero, Dr. Vivian Arnaiz, Dr. Kaitlin Marie Opingo, and Dr. Floro Marturillas.
Also, students from different programs facilitated the program and allowed them to demonstrate their passion for making a positive impact and improving the lives of others through volunteerism. This extension program highlights the university’s dedication to education and the capacity of the faculty members to extend their expertise to serve the community’s needs.
