CoEd-Main Faculty Conducts Psychological First Aid Training

In collaboration with Cebu Caritas Inc., the College of Education (CoEd) at CTU-Main campus, organized a comprehensive psychological first aid training at the Parroquia de San Isidro Labrador in Cansuje, Argao, Cebu. The training sessions occurred on February 28, March 23-24, and April 18-19, 2023.

This initiative, “Psycho-Education and Human Formation Development,” is a community extension project funded by the STF (Student Technologists and Entrepreneurs of the Philippines) program. The training was successfully facilitated by esteemed individuals, including Dr. Jabin J. Deguma, Chairperson of the COED Extension Services, Dr. Melona C. Deguma, the Project Leader, Prof. Jemima N. Tandag, Prof. Adrian D. Duites, Prof. Anne Frances Cabigon, Dr. Dennis B. Plando, and Dr. Irene O. Mamites, all of whom served as Project Members.

The primary objective of the training was to equip the 20 volunteer workers from Cebu Caritas Inc. with the necessary knowledge and skills to maintain their mental well-being and to offer psychological first aid to their community. By providing these volunteers with essential tools, they become better prepared to handle various life challenges and promote resilience among the individuals they assist.

The CoEd-Main faculty’s efforts in conducting this psychological first aid training significantly enhance the overall well-being and psychological support available within the community. By empowering volunteers to assist during difficult times, the project is a valuable resource for building a resilient and supportive community.
