
The Philippine Association for Teacher Education (PAFTE) commenced its regional assembly with the theme “Instructional and Research Transition Toward Education for Sustainable Development” at CebuTech Gymnatorium in Cebu Technological University-Main Campus on April 13-14, 2023, with the assistance of College of Education staff and students.
The assembly mentioned above was attended by several researchers from various campuses who presented their research, which would significantly contribute to the long-term expansion of education. The road to getting past educational challenges is paved with fresh ideas, perspectives, and potential solutions.
The event was attended by roughly 500 people, mostly from Negros Oriental, Samar, Bohol, San Remigio, Carmen, Moalboal, and Tuburan. In order to modify educational challenges, the two-day meeting is a valuable and crucial help.
The assembly began by summarizing the significant remarks of the first-day speakers on their various presentations by Dr. Deletah DG Polinar, Vice Chair, PAFTE VII, as she quotes, “Education is the most powerful tool to change the world”. The first speaker was Ms. Christine Largo Lim, PRC staff, on behalf of Dr. Narcival Randie Z. Taquiqui, Regional Director, PRC VII. The second speaker was Dr. Bernard S. Pantonilla, Education Supervisor-Teacher Education Program, CHED VII, who discussed the current CHED modifications. Curriculum revisions, local off-campus activities, graduate education programs, and the Diploma in Professional Education (DPE). Dr. Craig N. Refugio from Negros Oriental University comes in third with research trends. Finally, Ms. Ma. Rhodora M. Santos, president and CEO of Amicus KOI Solutions, spoke on productivity in research.
After the speakers’ presentation, the participants proceeded to their distinct allotted rooms to present their research papers.
