Marine Conservation Seminar Training at Sto. Niño, Tuburan

The CoEd-CTU Main Campus conducted a Marine Conservation Seminar Training at Sto. Niño, Tuburan, Cebu, in cooperation with the Brgy on the second week of May 2023. Council, the fisherfolks, and the Brgy. Captain, Honorable Rowel Gemparo. This activity was possible with the unwavering support of the College Dean, Dr. Reylan Capuno.

Trainers were Prof. Esperanza M. Del Fierro, project leader, Dr. Fe Varona, project member, together with project consultant Mario Marababol; the training focused on the conservation and development of the Brgy. Sto Nino Marine Protected Area (MPA). 

Introducing the value of MPA, identifying the different strategies for protecting the MPA, and providing mechanisms to combat illegal marine activities, enhances the capacity of the fisherfolks and community on the proper marine fishing practices and management to sustain and boost the present MPA’s potential and in the years to come.
