UREC conducts Research Ethics Training at CTU, Camotes

On June 21-23, 2023, the University Research Ethics Committee (UREC) conducted a three-day training on Research Ethics at Ocean Heaven Resort, San Francisco, Camotes, Cebu.

The VP for Research and Development, Dr. Archiebald Baltazar B. Malaki, the CTU-Camotes Campus Director, Dr. Jonita V. Literatus, and the CTU-Camotes Campus faculty members attended the event.

The resource speakers during the training were the UREC Chair, Dr. Anesito L. Cutillas, UREC Secretary, Dr. Esperanza M. Del Fierro, UREC Members, Dr. Simeon Bernados, Jr., Dr. Raamah Rosales, Dr. Anjin Pleaidess Cabrera, Engr. Donna Mae Rivero, Dr. Daisy Therese Llenes, and Dr. Sheilalaine Romulo. The UREC Staff, Ms. Shajara E. Serate and Ms. Princess Rose Mantau facilitated technical support.

Dr. Malaki emphasized ethics review in every research and its crucial role in the integrity of a research project. At the same time, Dr. Literatus expressed her gratitude for providing CTU-Camotes with training on Research Ethics while they continue practicing the culture of research.

The event is part of the UREC Ethics Review Cascading program in providing the university faculty with basic knowledge on the ethical soundness of research and an overview of the research ethics review process.
