CTU conducts G-Flex 5.0 and Suicide Prevention Awareness Campaign 2023

The Guidance Services Center – Day program organized an event known as G-Flex 5.0 or the Guidance Flexible Services 5.0, in conjunction with Suicide Prevention Awareness 2023. The event revolved around the theme “Promoting Inclusive Well-being: Genderizing the CebuTech Mental Health Program for Kahupayan, Kaayohan, and Kalambuan.. Tara na uban ta sa Pagpakabana” and took place on September 22 and 25, 2023. It was held in a hybrid format and catered to all day program students.

This remarkable event was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the Guidance Services Center – Day program, under the leadership of Mrs. Josephine A. Villa, the Guidance Services Specialist. Additionally, the event saw active participation from Guidance Counselors representing various CTU colleges, including Dr. Catherine Rose Degula from the College of Education, Miss Jeel Christine de Egurrola from the College of Arts and Sciences, Miss Jerame Nacua from the College of Management and Entrepreneur and College of Technology, and Miss Pearl Jane Bongcales from the College of Computer, Information and Communications Technology and College of Engineering.

The rationale for this event was eloquently discussed by Atty. Marvey Arnoco-Ocampo, who serves as the Dean of Student Affairs and Services. The event was conducted under the diligent supervision of Engr. Teresita B. Capin, the GAD Director – Main campus. The GAD coordinator, designated for each college, played an integral role in explaining the GAD Office’s significance in the realm of Mental Health.

The primary objective of this event was to educate students about recognizing the signs of a person at risk of suicide and to empower them with the knowledge of their role in connecting such individuals with the resources available at the Guidance Services Center.
